Blog #5: I love KC

I truly do love KC. It has formed me into the person I am today. There has been so many different places I have spent my time that have shaped the memories I will hold for the rest of my life. The first place is my Grandma’s house. Learning all of the history behind my mom’s family moving from Vietnam to a tiny two bedrooms, one bath house with 12 kids started the bond within my family. Having all of our family get together for Christmas and other holiday’s there in the small house in KC out of all the places we could’ve been will be something I will never forget.
There are also all my friend’s houses that I have spent countless hours at. It isn’t necessarily the places that we have been that I love, but the memories that I get from those places are what I love. Like going to Matilda’s, Brady’s or Courtney’s basement to watch a movie or just to hang out. These places are where I will remember majority of my memories from high school.
Although I am going to Arkansas next year, my heart will always be here in KC. This is where I started and this will always be my home. I am comfortable here and feel like this is will always be a comfort zone for me. Who knows what my future holds. I know that this is a safe place and I look forward to look back to think about all the places I have been around in KC.

Blog #4: TV Rescue

If I got kidnapped by someone, I would call the characters on Gossip Girl. All of the characters on this show, considering they are rich and mischievous, would be very helpful to have. If anything was to happen to me, they would know what to do. This whole show was about how they were trying to figure out who one person was and some of the things that they had to go through was horrifying. The kidnapping event, started at my work. We were having a gymnastics class and my boss called me to the back. He was new and we all assumed he was just a really nice guy. My new boss kept calling me to his office in between classes and asked me for information I have not ever been asked before like "where do you live", and "who lives at your house". I thought he was just gathering this information so that he could enter into the work system but I was wrong. One day when I came home from work, I opened the door and was kidnapped by my new boss. I was screaming at the top of my lungs and was more terrified than I have ever been. Luckily, I had my phone on me and was able to call the cast of Gossip Girl. Chuck was the first one to answer and he hired his private investigator to figure out all he could about my new boss. Check called Blair to see if she could track him down as his investigator figured out who is really was. I was thrown into a dark closet and wasn't sure where I was. He told me to be quiet and I tried thinking about ways I was able to escape by myself. Serena suggested to send into Gossip Girl a blast about how I had gotten kidnapped and if anyone had seen me or they guy. As soon as the blast went out, a ton of people started responding saying different spots they had seen me and my new boss. Once the cast started putting all the clues together, they came and found me in the closet. Chuck's detective figured out that my new boss moved from another state after trapping multiple girls in closets where he once lived. I was thankful I had their contact for them to find me.

Blog #3: Most Influential Person

I believe that Miley Cyrus has made an impact within the music industry. Although not every thing she has does has been good, it hasn't all been bad either. She has a way of connecting with her fans that she is understanding of all. She makes sure that they don't feel like they can't be who they are and she also expresses this through her music. With all of her crazy attempts to get the media going, she does a pretty good job. She has changed the way that people think about her type of music. She went from sweet Hannah Montana to a wilder Miley. This shows how people change and how she wanted to make her mark in this industry.
Miley has also to achieved winning many awards. Some of her awards include: Grammy, MTV, Golden Globes and many more. She has also contributed to charity and has done many other things to make a difference!

Blog #2: Current Event

The article that I read talked about Syrian refugees and how the U.S. is giving them aid. The aid that they are giving them currently is blankets, food, and first aid. After reading this article it made me realize how there are many things in this world that are going on that I have no idea about. I personally don't keep track just because I feel like I don't have the time. I am still unsure how important it is for me to keep up during this part of my life either. The article goes into more detail about how whether or not the U.S. should bring Syrian refugees to the U.S. and protect them from the attacks and bombings of ISIS. Some people believe that we shouldn't because it is dangerous not knowing if some of the people could potentially be apart of ISIS. Other people believe that we should protect these innocent people and bring them into the U.S. unknowing if they really are innocent or not. What I believe is that the first priority of our country is to make sure that our citizens here are safe and protected first. We shouldn't have to risk our own safety to protect the people in Syria. It's probably best that we just continuing giving them aid but to not stretch the inch to a mile by inviting them to stay in our country unknowing what they are capable of. This will potentially impact my life because my safety could be on the line. I must be alert as to what is going on in this world to make sure that I am safe.

Blog #1: New Year’s Resolution

2015 was a pretty stressful year. After summer ended, life really made a turn. Realizing it was senior year and big life decisions were headed my way for the new year really freaked me out. The thought of saying goodbye is always sad but thinking of a new start is refreshing. So many things changed in 2015 and it's crazy for me to think that there will be even more in 2016. New friends, new place to live, new school, a new way of living life. I am going to have to learn how balance all of these things out but I am confident I will be able to do it.

As of now, my important goal (or resolution) for 2016 is to be the best prepared I am able to for college and start off my first semester at Arkansas with a bang. I want to achieve this goal so that I am successful for when I become a nurse. Some obstacles that I am going to face is not always knowing what is going to be best and how to keep going. I will make mistakes along the way but I will need to learn from them and move on. I will be able to determine my success by the reflection of my grades at the end of my first semester. As long as I put in my best effort, my grades will hopefully reflect that. I will gain many benefits reaching my goal like: being ready for the next part of my life, having the knowledge to becoming a nurse, and even things like having new friends and having fun. I look forward to this next step and my life and seeing how much things are about to change for the good, I can't wait!
